David Beckham plays blind football

With the Olympics just around the corner it’s great to see all the support and excitment building for the up and coming events.  However, we must remember there is a second Olympics and that is the Paralympics who train just as hard as the abled body athletes.  I personally can’t wait for both Olympics it’s great to see people pushing themselves to the limit in the name of sport.

Sir Clive Woodward on London 2012

A great interview with Sir Clive Woodward the man behind the Rugby Union team that brought home the world cup.

Now part of the British Olympic Association (BOA), where he plans to encourage making the british team as technologically advanced as possible to help give them the edge.

Sir clive goes onto mention how hard it is to gain the small advantages that create a winning team.  If you want to win then you have to try new things, be open to change.

Between 1998 and 2004 Woodward implemented a number of methods that raised eyebrows amongst his rivals but that ultimately gave England small “half a per cent” advantages over their opponents. He employed a vast backroom staff including coaches for specific aspects of the game (unheard of at the turn of the century): a masseur, a chef, and even a QC for any legal issues that arose on tours.
